Was the grasshopper correct?

I have lived ant’s part in the fable of the ant and the grasshopper while over thirty years ago my ex roommate, best friend, and one who cared deeply about my well-being advised wholeheartedly that I would be much happier and better off if I quit even thinking about The Deep State and ugly side of the world around us.

That is over 11,000 days he spent power boating, traveling, watching pro sports with friends, believing in an honorable media, living in a pleasant, unconcerned leisure class while I kept my nose to the grindstone, squirreled my nuts away, researching, working, and railing against the evil elites.

As my, our enemies come down home stretch on their nefarious Agenda 2030, I find myself wondering if Wayne was right. From the perspective of the individual it is clearly more pleasant to live the life of a munchkin, paying no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Living color Oz was a heckuva lot nicer looking than sepia-toned Kansas.

For the community at large however if nobody exposes the wizard, if the wizard is corrupted by power or is anything other than supernaturally benevolent, if nobody interrupts their plans, the trajectory of the tribe is not good at all in the long run.

Who does that?

Who stands between a potentially healthy society and those who would destroy it?

Once in a great while I will consider a conceivably better path selection I could have made at various points in my life, but remind myself those could just as easily taken me to a fatal disaster I avoided via the route I did select.

We do not get DO-OVERS anyway.

I’m probably exactly where the cosmos wanted me.

The Road Not Taken

by ROBERT FROST
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and Iā€”
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This website is a gift to my community from a pensioner dedicating a bit of his life attempting to help preserve humanity, integrity, honor and liberty – a world under attack. If I help one person find our side of the rampart, or help the resolve of one who found it via another path, my time and money have been well spent.
