Man’s strength is in numbers. He is not designed as a solitary predator with great individual territorial requirements, but a thinking, cooperating, team, tribe and community being. Anti social, sociopathic behavior endangers the group and, thus, is rejected of necessity by a healthy band.
But just as conforming masses are crucial to the group’s well being, there has to be some non-conforming that the group may find the other pasture, hunting ground, environment, tool, technique and so forth. So while we are not normal, average or typical, we are important.
Of course it is crucial that the flock correctly choose which leaders to follow and which to cast out. There will always be some who favor and others who disfavor any innovation, change of direction or, for that matter, continuing business as always. The pack that chooses to follow the right leader thrives while those who chose the wrong ones do not. Even among the conformists, some decision making is required.
The hardest part of being Out There is watching the herd heading for the cliff ignoring what we see as obvious warning signs. We do understand how the herders are pulling it off. Our problem is that we really struggle with how it is apparent to us while transparent to so many others.
The Media Monopoly was probably their most clever move. If we could only get more people to look elsewhere for their information, the whole ‘running the herd off the cliff’ thing would not work. But it is an artfully designed package, gosh darn it.

For this one they fired up the machine beginning by disparaging everything the Russians did setting up for and running the Winter Olympics. It has been a structured full-court press against Russia ever since.
Are you even looking beyond what they are feeding you? The sociopaths are in the lead. Please look around … soon. Running along in a popular direction doesn’t mean it is a good one.

Volunteers from self-defense units are taking an oath of allegiance to the people of Crimea as the autonomous republic puts together its own military in order to respond to possible provocations from the coup-imposed government in Kiev. We should be taking a lesson here: Local people know which side they are on. We will be facing similar issues in our own neighborhoods in the not-too-distant future.
