governor election results

The election of November 2, 2010 has come and gone. I WON! … by a landslide … in the all-important category of dollars-spent-per-vote-received.

……………………….. $/vote …… total ….percent ….. spending
LIB Ted Dunlap … $0.07 …… 5,863 …… 0.4% …………… $415
IND Jana Kemp … $1.73 …. 26,584 ….. 1.7% …….. $46,106
IND Pro-Life ……… $2.51 ……. 3,837 ….. 0.2% ………. $9,643
REP Butch Otter .. $5.74 .. 266,831 … 17.3% . $1,531,452
DEM Keith Allred . $7.12 .. 147,751 …. 9.6% .. $1,052,100
Idaho adults not voting . 1,095,134 .. 70.8%

Of course you might also note that the great majority stayed away from the voting booths and were rewarded by having the incumbent re-elected.

I enticed a good friend and great mind over with the offer of my home-roasted coffee. He is a great help to me in clarifying things. He is the one who owns the Harry Browne book that I suppose will sit in my library until I “GET IT”.

freedom-in-unfree-world

One of his great gems today was, “You have three choices:
The problem lies in the message, the messenger or the audience. You have seen many good and excellent messengers deliver the message you believe to be obvious and true. What is left?”

For the moment, I have to admit that no amount of fund-raising, spending, writing, speaking, kissing hands or shaking babies will be any more effective in awaking the dead than I have been thus far.

I need to have my own personal liberties be my highest priority.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Does that mean the end of my blog?

As Robert Heinlein explains in The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, writers write because there is no way for them to stop. Or as H. L. Mencken put it, “I go on working for the same reason a hen goes on laying eggs.”
